ACP Kicked Off Airport Sustainable Program

ACP Kicked Off Airport Sustainable Program
The need to build 97 new airports and expand existing Chinese airports comes at a time when the global issues of sustainability are equally met with the interests of US and China and common awareness for energy efficiency, green technologies and practices.
To address this combination development opportunities and environmental issues, the ACP Airport Committee kicked off its joint study and focused training program on July 17, 2009, with Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), China Airport Construction Corporation (CACC) and the Chinese airport managers. The joint study specifically highlights sustainability, efficiency and economic benefits that make airport infrastructure and operations safe, efficient and “green”. In additional to funding of the Airport Sustainability program, US TDA also financially supports an Airport Environmental Orientation Visit for CAAC Airport Department and Chinese airport executives to visit US airports to learn their green practices.
This joint program provides opportunity for US and Chinese aviation professionals to study US standards and best practices, analyze China sustainable airport development practices and Opportunities, create recommendations, and establish the benchmark for world class sustainability airports.
