ACP General Aviation Grant Signing Ceremony
Wednesday July 13, 2011, Mr. Geoff Jackson, Director for Policy and Program and Regional Director, USTDA, signed a US$429,654 Grant with Captain Jin YiBin, Director General of Flight Standards Dept, CAAC, to provide technical assistance to the General Aviation Development Implementation Support Program (GARA Phase III). In addition to GARA III grant, TDA has provided USD 875,871 grant for the ACP Phase VII program in April and a grant for the US-China Summit in September this year. The total grant provided by TDA to the CAAC in 2011 has exceeded USD 1.5 Million.
For the GARA I and GARA II, TDA has provided more than USD 870k in 2007 and 2008 to support the program, and this is the third time to provide funds supporting the GA development in China.
Before the ceremony, participants had a friendly dialogue regarding future cooperation. China General Aviation Development Implementation Support Program is funded by USTDA, led by CAAC, and supported by ACP. The objectives of the project are to support CAAC in the area of low altitude airspace management, development of commuter operations in remote areas, and oversight of fixed base operations (FBO), and flight service stations (FSS).
