Executive Management Training is Flying High - ACP launches sixth EMDT program

In August, the US-China Aviation Cooperation Program (ACP) launched its sixth Executive Management Development Training (EMDT) program for Chinese aviation executives and officials. The kick-off dinner was held at the Civil Aviation Management Institute of China (CAMIC) with Vice President Gao Hongjiang opening the dinner and introducing honored guests.
Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) Deputy Administrator (DA) Xia Xinghua followed, noting how ACP is a cooperative platform between China and the US. ACP has sponsored many programs over the years that offer training opportunities for CAAC officials. On behalf of CAAC, DA Xia expressed gratitude to the US government and ACP member companies for their cooperative exchanges in the economy, trade and culture. The EMDT6 students, with excellent educational background and rich working experience, were selected by CAAC’s headquarters, regional administrations, airports and airlines.
William Weinstein, economic minister counselor at the US Embassy, said he appreciated the opportunity to launch the EMDT6 on behalf of the US government for the third consecutive year. Minister Counselor Weinstein emphasized EMDT is an important program in US–China aviation cooperation, and noted an upcoming aviation cooperation seminar to be held in Chongqing. He also said CAAC leaders will be traveling to Washington, DC to attend the US–China Aviation Summit in September. Industry growth and market demand have benefited from the contribution of aviation talent, and EMDT provides opportunities for such talent to contribute even more to US–China aviation development. Four new routes between US and China are in the works and will be coming soon.
